Parents/Carers Engagement & Support at Holway Park School
Helping parents and carers access the specific support and engagement they need quickly.
As Headteacher I have organised and enabled key staff to engage and support with parents and families so that parents/carers can have direct contact and support with staff to enable quick and responsive action.
The following staff are available to support directly with your queries or concerns:
PFSA Mrs Angie Bristow supports and signpost families for a variety of needs
Attendance worker- Mrs Bekki Milham supports families in securing and improving their child's attendance
SENCO- Mrs Kidner & Mrs Hall are available to support parent/carer concerns or queries about their child's additional needs
Deputy Headteacher- Mrs Martin is the school’s delegated behaviour lead to support parents/carers with concerns about their child's behaviour.
Bullying investigation team to investigate any allegations of bullying
Safeguarding concerns-The Headteacher & deputy Headteacher as safeguarding leads engage with parents/carers and others re Safeguarding concerns
Not forgetting our super friendly and helpful office team who are available every day between 8.30am- 4.00pm to help with any queries.
The Headteacher chairs weekly VCG meetings to identify and discuss vulnerable children and families and monitor progress of support.
These pivotal roles within our staffing structure are non-class based and therefore have regular availability to support parents/carers and children. This also enables the Headteacher to have a regular overview of all areas of support or concern across the school.
All Class Teachers are available to meet with parents between 3.15pm - 3.45pm either face to face, on the phone or via email, enabling parents/carers regular direct contact with their child's class teacher. Teachers also have a morning rota to meet and greet children at the school gates between 8.35am- 8.43am
We also provide different opportunities for you to come into school:
Read Alongside- a chance to come in and share a book with your child.
Board Games an opportunity to come in and play board games with your child.
Coffee Wellbeing Sessions- organise speaker visitor for parents
SENCO coffee mornings- organised by the SENCos
