Text 1: Persuasive Letter

In year 5, we are going to learn about writing persuasively by using emotive language and applying other skils such as rhetorical questions and opening signpost phrases to hook the reader.

We will be learning how to write a discussion text. This means writing a balanced argument for and against a particular question. The skills we will be considering when writing our discussion texts include: rhetorical questions, modal verbs, generalisers and adverbial openers.
