To all parents/carers of children in Year 3/4.
We hope you are all well and are beginning to adjust to the recent changes.
We have put together this guide which contains a range of resources and activity ideas to support your child’s home learning in maths and literacy. Please use the resources as a guide - these do not need to be printed. The questions can be completed on a separate piece of paper.
There is no expectation of how much you are able to complete and will not be expecting to see completed work upon the return to school. Having said that, if your child does keep a folder or book of all their amazing learning they do at home, we will certainly share it with the rest of the class and would be thrilled to see anything they produce when we return. Alternatively, take a photo and send it to us at:
The key things to try and keep ticking over are most certainly daily reading, fluency (see the 'Take Five' link) and regular times-tables fluency (with related division facts) using TTRockstars. In addition, you can now find daily maths lessons which are targeted at what the children would be learning if school was still open.
This is also a wonderful time to engage in other activities such as gardening, art activities, cooking, playing games (even creating their own boardgames!) and getting creative with the things around us so please do try to enjoy it as best you can under the circumstances.
Should you require any assistance at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We wish you all the very best at this difficult time,
The Year 3/4 Team
